Migrant Artists Mutual Aid was founded in 2011. We are a cross national network of women, mothers, migrants, artists, academics and activists who work together to support members of our group who are seeking sanctuary, and campaign for justice in the migration system.
From the beginning we have produced events to raise legal fighting funds for women and children seeking sanctuary in the UK. We have fought the forced removals of some of our members and engaged in media campaigns for asylum protection for gender based violence.
Our cross national choir sings regularly at venues across Liverpool. Singing together makes all of us stronger and through it we hope to share our friendship with those who hear our voices raised together.

FAO: Jennifer Verson – Hi Jen Colin here from Nerve. The next issue of the magazine will be a special edition devoted to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, principally those based in Liverpool. Would you or one of your colleagues at Migrant Artists & Mutual Aid in Liverpool like to contribute a feature on your group (400 words or so) and 3 or 4 photos to be included in this issue. Cheers Colin Serjent
